After three days of standby, the Oxbow Back to Powder will kick off tomorrow

After three days of standby, the Oxbow Back to Powder will kick off tomorrow in what are expected to be great conditions.

Due to the lack of sun this Tuesday, the riders had a tough time checking out their lines on the “freeride zone”.  However, the conditions for the next two days are expected to be much better, and therefore the organizers have set back the start date of the competition.

The riders continued to check out the venue today: spending time visualizing the lines they will be riding during the competition. They also had the chance to test out the “perfect jump”, which will need some work overnight to even out a bump on the transition.
In spite of the weather, a backcountry “free session” took place today, this also allowed for some footage of the day.  A few of the riders equipped with helmet cams, took some runs in the “combettes”, an area which could possibly become the new secured “freeride zone” of Areches Beaufort next winter.

Program of Wednesday February 4th
The competition will start of on the “perfect jump”, in which skiers and boarders will be expected to perform the “perfect jump”
The afternoon will hold a free session in the backcountry freestyle zone; here the riders will be expected to link up a series of features on a powder run.
