Freestyle Backcountry*, the show goes on…

Great weather conditions for this morning, Thursday February 5th, allowed the riders to session the freestyle backcountry zone.
This zone has been especially built for the event, and combines runs through couloirs, rocks and a series of jumps.
Riders were able to link up great jumps whilst landing in a powder filed.

Amongst them, the Japanese snowboarder Yuji Suzuki carried out an almost perfect run with great amplitude.  On skis, Dane Tudor, Mike Hopkins, Kye Petersen, and Matt Marguetts, stood out for their style and determination.

The recco meeting took place a little later in the evening.  Safety is one of the main issues throughout this Oxbow back to powder.

Program for Friday February 6th

Skiers and boarders will continue the competition in the Wood Zone, an area consisting of wooden features.  This area has been especially built by Oxbow, and will stay up for the rest of winter.
